This was my first event with the group and I really enjoyed it. Eric was a great guide and showed us excellent shooting locations, as well as providing a lot of suggestions and assistance in taking landscape shots - his expertise and experience really show. The only downside was the wind, but at least we had brilliant sunlight. I look forward to more photography adventures with this group.

A few months ago, I decided to learn photography as a way to help me see the beauty around me that often us Military veterans struggle to find.I was assigned to prepare a photo marketing project for my CNM Visualizing Studio Photography class taught by Stefan Batist. I chose to show the elegance of Lamarca Prosecco Rose for my project portfolio.

Franklin, Wiggles (sister) and I all live in Albuquerque, NM. Franklin is a rescue that found me after I lost my Mini Dachshund, girl, Casey. He is a sweet, affectionate, gentle little spirit that came from an abusive environment but now lives peacefully, acting as a model, in my little home studio. The photo was shot with a Lumix 5sii, 50mm, f9, iso 100, 1/60 shutter speed and a 2-flash set up.

This is a close-up of a flower called a cineraria. It?s from a color slide taken back in the late 70s/early 80s. I bet many others also have older images that the rest of us would like to see.9

I was taking photos of red gebera daisies as part of a red challenge for a photo group. They are one of my favorite flowers to photograph. I love the small details in the flower that you can capture with a macro lens.

This photo was taken in May 2023. I had just gotten my Canon 100mm Macro lens and was giving it a test run in front of the shop where I work at in Eagle Nest. Since flies seem to stay still a little longer than most insects it was a great test subject. I was amazed at the detail I got with my new lens.

Steam was really enshrouding the main pool of Grand Prismatic, so I looked for other compelling ways to capture images. This image features some of the sinter terraces and cooler water thermophiles thriving around the central pool perimeter.
