ABOUT ALBUQUERQUE
PHOTOGRAPHY
GROUP
Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Albuquerque .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Albuquerque Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

I think it was a good beginning photography event to encourage us to develop our skills and use our cameras. Our instructor was very helpful and worked individually with each of us. Thank you!

Enjoyable! Leader was friendly and helpful. I liked her ideas for shooting but could use more instruction on settings. Next time I?ll try to ask more questions. I would definitely do another one. I?m hoping to find more like minded photographers.

I walked away with a better understanding of composition and other things. Calvin showed an interest in helping us all improve not only technique but the presentation of an image which is the true art of photography.

I was part of a Photography Club while living in Avon, Ohio for 10 years. The club ESPC Erie Shores Photography Club joined in the Scott Kelby World Wide Photo Walk each year. This was my entry into that years contest. The photo includes the Key Bank Building, Terminal Tower and the foreground is the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame. I believe the date this was taken was 6-7-2012

I like taking photos of real life and to show that not everything is perfect. We have a big problem with "unhoused individuals" in NM. This was a cold winter day .

This is Yellow Creek, which runs through Krape Park in Freeport, Illinois. The building on the left is a warming house for ice skaters. The creek freezes over in winter.

Just wrapped up an incredible landscape photography weekend in the Taos/Questa area. As I began my pre-dawn drive home, a quick stop at Eagle Nest Lake turned into pure magic. The low clouds and fog danced over the water, and just as I set up my tripod?this pair of Canada geese floated through the frame. Caught the shot in the perfect moment. The light, the texture, the atmosphere? easily my favorite capture of the entire trip.

Canyon Overlook in Zion National Park, an easy 30 min hike to this spot was worth it. View of the canyons and the switchbacks. Sprinkle of snow dust on the peaks makes gives it a bit more drama.

Flamingoes are kept indoors during the winter months but on this occasion a shaft of sunlight from a window revealed the beautiful colours of these birds. Their heads are always bobbing up and down so composition is difficult and focusing on the eye of the main subject is essential. Canon 6D MK2, 100-400 L lens 1/[email protected]@300mmMinimal post production was required
