Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Albuquerque .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Albuquerque Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

Donovan did a great job introducing us to photography! She combined technical explanations with hands-on learning. I learned a TON an had a great time. I'll definitely sign up for another class!

Enjoyable! Leader was friendly and helpful. I liked her ideas for shooting but could use more instruction on settings. Next time I?ll try to ask more questions. I would definitely do another one. I?m hoping to find more like minded photographers.

I walked away with a better understanding of composition and other things. Calvin showed an interest in helping us all improve not only technique but the presentation of an image which is the true art of photography.

I wanted the sun to be featured in this late-afternoon image. I exposed for the beach and let rest take care of itself. The sun's reflection on the water was a little unexpected added bonus that I didn't notice at the time because the sun was a little overpowering in the viewfinder. In my experience, some of my better images or elements within those images were unplanned.

Arroyo Seco is a small village in Taos County, New Mexico. My family has had several reunions in Arroyo Seco over the years and this photo was made in our rented house just outside of Arroyo Seco during one of our family reunions. For landscape photos I particularly like to shoot in early morning hours, and this day the morning weather was perfect for creating "Misty Morning in Arroyo Seco."

While walking in a line back to the tram I looked down at my camera and made my settings in hopes it would be correct. Pointed the camera back with out looking at the view finder. I was so impressed because I had to make major setting changes not knowing if it was exposed or focused correctly.

This is one image of a series done with a fabulous model, Nina. She wore an antique slip and we experimented with long exposures combined with a strobe flash while she went through a series of movements. The series expressed feelings ranging from joyful to tortured.

This is a portrait of Charlotte Senders. Charlotte was a member of Running To Places youth theatre company in Ithaca. I was their archival photographer for 11 years. I often asked individuals from the company to come and sit for photos both in my studio and in the field. Charlotte was a wonderful performer with a very bubbly, outgoing personality, besides being stunningly beautiful. She lived on a working farm and was a real farm girl. I told her she could model if she wished, she replied "My mo
